Director of Construction

Foresight Construction is seeking an experienced Director of Construction (DOC) to join our executive team. This position will be responsible for all phases of our projects, from preconstruction site management to punch walk. The DOC will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Foresight Construction standards related to quality, safety, and sustainability. Assignments include commercial tenant fit-outs, exterior renovations, and new construction.

This is an executive level position and requires an extensive amount of experience in leading individuals and teams in order to produce outcomes needed to advance the vision of the company. Just as important as the below job responsibilities, this individual will be involved in the building, implementation, and leading of Foresight’s goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for all team correspondence regarding projects, coordination, and issues
  • Serve as a liaison between office staff and field staff
  • Provide technical direction to work crews as needed
  • Ensure project materials and workmanship meet the project quality standards
  • Responsible for managing the safety Manager and ensuring the highest standards of safety are met
  • Follow up with the safety manager and document any on site injuries, accidents, or issues
  • Understands project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders
  • Drive field team to establish effective and appropriate on-site project governance for a project
  • Provide annual feedback to the field team on performance
  • Ensures subcontractors and team adhere to the project plan
  • Assist in developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Report construction progress and advise project team of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts
  • Manage the planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
    Accountable for ensuring proper financial management of field expenses
  • Ensure proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy
  • Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production team members
